Meet the committee:
Jay Mens
Hi! I’m Jay. I grew up on an American military base in the North of England and did my B.A. in Politics and International Relations at Gonville and Caius. I’m now studying for my M.Phil. in World History. This is my fifth year at Cambridge and at Chabad, so I can testify that both are a good time! I‘m happy to answer any questions about Cambridge life or to meet up for coffee or beer (jm2059@cam.ac.uk).
Clara Helwaser
Hi! My name is Clara. I was born in Paris and moved to New York at 14. I recently graduated from Queens College (not the Cambridge one) where I majored in history, and I just started my M.Phil. at S. John’s in Modern European History. I look forward to meeting you all and please feel free to reach out with any questions or to chat about anything (ch847@cam.ac.uk).
Rebecca Haboucha
Hi! I’m a 4th year PhD student in Archaeology, specialising in Heritage Studies. I research climate change and Indigenous culture heritage in northern Canada and Chile. I’m originally from Montreal, Canada, but have been in the UK for 5 years. My main interests are food heritage (or anything to do with cooking), travel and ice hockey.
Ellie McDonald
Hi! I’m Ellie, a third year at Peterhouse studying Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic. I’m from Sussex but spent a few years living in Alsace, France. I love music (especially bagpipes) and water sports. Feel free to email me (ejm98@cam.ac.uk) with any questions or for a chat!
